Keyboard problem - sticky keys?

Hi I have a AIO i7-4790s running W8.1 with an Anker wireless keyboard.

Twice now, the keyboard has done this strange thing, where every key I enter performs a function rather than entering the letter. I think this is sticky keys, but I've checked my settings and sticky keys is off. I've also tried pressing shift 5 times to no avail, but the only thing I can do when it happens is reboot.

Does anyone have any idea why it's doing this, and is there an easier way to get back to normal keyboard function without rebooting? Also the touchscreen keyboard behaves in exactly the same way as the external keyboard which makes me think it's a software rather than a hardware issue.

I have no idea if this is relevant but both times this has happened I've been editing a Google doc and using CTRL c and CTRL v to cut and paste amongst other things.

Thanks😊

I resolved it! I pressed the windows key and it had stayed active.... Pressed it again and returned to normal. I didn't know the windows key could do that!
