Wow that's a lot to take in haha. So if I want maximum frame rates I need to aim for a lower end monitor and a higher end GPU? Is that right? I want to take streaming into mind so I've switched things around a little to get more memory and a bigger CPU. Would this help with streaming and gaming at the same time? The choices above are less than what I had before so it allows for the highest graphics in the list.

I went with loads of memory as I was told that streaming used loads. I didn't read anything about speed but I didn't go with the slowest. Looking at the above you have gone for low amounts of memory but with faster speeds. Would it be possible to use faster memory for the games and slower memory for the streaming? Is it easy to plug in? I could get cheaper memory from Amazon to use for the streaming if that would help.

I really want an SSD drive in there. I think it would make a big difference for games.

I managed to save in some other areas as well. Is the motherboard choice important? In the extreme selection there was only 1 option so it was very straight forward.

You've got to bare in mind, if you get a 'lower end monitor' you won't be able to display the 'higher frames'... so its all a bit of a mixed bag really.

For example, a 120Hz monitor can only display a maximum of 120 FPS, 240Hz can only display 240FPS and so on.

You’d be much better off taking the build that @Steveyg proposed and refining that, he knows his onions.

Motherboard choice is indeed important, you need the right voltage regulation to ensure good performance. The B450 is a dead platform so not a great choice.

Streaming may use more memory but not loads, 32GB of higher frequency RAM would be a more appropriate choice.

The build put to you had M.2 drives in it, they are the next generation of SSD and are blisteringly fast in comparison.

A 3090 wouldn’t also be a wise investment, it’s a workstation card and would be a bit wasted on a gaming system.

Ultimately, it’s your money and you can do what you want but there’s been some very sound advice handed out so far by knowledgeable forum members (I’m not putting myself in that category) and you’ll end up with a far better optimised build if you heed it.

And whilst the PCS SPECTRUM RGB MID TOWER CASE is a good budget case, it is a budget case, you really would want one with better airflow for a build including high end components (eg the one Steveg suggested, there are other similar ones as well)

Hi mate this might feel like the tear down but the idea is to help you understand why parts are selected

The 5900x is a fantastic CPU but that motherboard is in no way suited to it, I personally didn't recommend it because the motherboard I would want it on isn't available. Ideally the 5900x with a X570 STRIXX would be the combo. The motherboard needs to be suitable to the CPU and the 5900x being super high end it's going to be sending a lot of information across the board and producing both massive amounts of heat and power. The motherboard has to be able to cope with that or it will detract from the CPU's ability.

The RAM is too slow, 3200Mhz is the minimum speed we tend to recommend these days. Especially with Ryzen CPU's which require the fastest RAM possible to operative optimally and 32GB is more than you'll ever need if you're streaming mate especially with the games you're talking about

The 3090 is a waste of time for these uses, you're spending money needlessly for a card that isn't suitable. It's absurdly powerful yes but it's aimed at production not gaming

The storage set up is basically old format mate, SATA SSD's have been superseded by M.2 SSD's which are much much faster

The powersupply also isn't ideal. 850W I recommended is really the minimum for the parts we're talking about here, I'd actually recommend 1000W due to the power creep in components the past few years to make sure you have enough power to make upgrades in future

Also that CPU cooler is no where near adequate to keep that CPU cooler, it will thermal throttle really badly paired with a really budget case for the highest end components is a recipe for thermal problems mate

Let me put together something that is also aimed at streaming to help give you idea

The only time you'll ever really want a 3090 is if you're planning on running games at 8k or you've got a heavy workload that requires pure power. Im not well informed on the AMD side of gpu's, But for your needs you only really need a 3080 if you're going all out.

And looking at the build that Steveyg has just posted, that should suit all of your needs, its got the nvme drives for the super fast load times with the bulky hdd for mass storage, so if you're going to stream you can put all of the programs and games that would benefit from those on the 1.5TB of nvme storage you have there.

And while things do take advantage of more RAM, thats usually just for when you jump from 8gb to 16 and then to 32. 16gb is generally recommended as a minimum these days and 32gb will keep you going perfectly for years to come. But ofcourse if you need 2 chrome tabs open, you'll want 128gb of ram as a minimum

Thanks for the help everyone. Taking on board what you have said I spent a ton of time last night looking at benchmarks and differences in performance etc. I really want to keep my aim of 300fps for the games that I am playing. When the monitor technology gets better I want to be able to make the most of it. I can notice the difference between my TV and a monitor right now so I have no doubt that having more frames will help me win games.

Not sure if you guys have heard of it but I found a great site for comparing all kinds of options. It has rankings etc too and shows that my thinking was correct with going Intel.

Could be helpful for advising in future.

I've had to stretch my budget out a little but it still isn't as high as I was previously so that should give me some room for a monitor.

Looking at benchmarks the 3080ti can manage very high FPS across many titles. I'll need to turn down the settings to max out a future monitor but it should work well with my TV for now. I also found some 360hz monitors that will hopefully give me the edge in gaming.

I wanted a white case and I'm still concerned about running out of memory when streaming but I've selected a faster option as suggested.

Thanks again for your help, it's been a proper education. Can't wait to receive it.

User benchmark is notoriously biased and unreliable mate and this is a terrible build I'm sorry to say, it also seems like you didn't read a thing I've been saying here

At the end of the day it's your money you can spend it however you like but this isn't a good build

I managed to find a deal on a 360hz monitor so I think it will pair very nicely.

It looks the part and will be just over the 3k mark that I started at.

Thanks again for the help, awesome forum.

For anyone on the outside reading.... this was a little wind up. The specs I posted were bogus, and absolutely atrocious throughout... as rightly pointed out on numerous occasions.

The calmness and patience given surprised me though, well done all. You must all be in a good mood. I expected my head to get bitten off :D
