Labour Charges

Hi all,

As you know from my previous threads my brothers PC has been having trouble recently.

Just took it to a proper computer dude and its most definitely the motherboard. He tested all the compents.. as I already had >.< apart from the PSU so he tested that too and it came up fine, he also checked it with a new PSU just to be sure and pretty much guaranteed that the motherboard has carked it.

Getting a new mobo for £55 and labour charge is £50. Apparantly this is standard? I feel its a bit steep, unfortunately my brother already gave the guy the go ahead and he's happy enough to pay £105 to get it all sorted so fair enough I guess. But just wanted to compare what the guys at PCS normally charge labour wise?

I'm not 100% confident enough to be replacing a mobo yet myself which is a shame. I'd like to have a crack at it though but no old rig to try with!

Thanks Gorman, I thought it was a little overpriced. They wouldn't budge either.. whoever heard of somewhere that won't haggle? Won't haggle?! Pah!

I would of done it for £20 and taught you how at the same time :)

Cheers :)

I might take you up on that some time anyway, would be handy to learn :)

I tried to practice on my old MESH that I took to Uni...

...I got my Alienware (spit) about 2 weeks after I graduated... (I think it had something to do with a "snap" noise)
