Hi there

I am wondering if there is a solution to cool a cpu(in my case apu a6-4400k) that has the air vents on the sides and not on the back of the laptop .Almost all coolers dont help because they are design for the back of the laptop .

is there a solution or a way around this ?

thanks

Any laptop needs a good air gap all around it; front, back and sides. If you can't provide a clear air gap all around you'll get heat build up in the air in the blocked areas and the fan(s) will then start sucking in this warm air which of course doesn't cool as well so the laptop gets hotter. It's a positive feedback loop that ends up with an overheated laptop.

In all seriousness, if you can't provide for airflow at the back as well as at the sides you should probably rethink the laptop's location. With or without a cooling pad. :)

i bought a cooling pad that provides a gap between the surface and the laptop .

I use speedfan to tech the temp and see if it does any difference .
