Laptop FingerPrint Reader

Anybody tried using this and how good is it? Do I also need to have a password that I have to type in too
Have kids i house i would prefer didnt use my laptop and if it means i dont have to remember my password then even better??

I think it overrides typing a password in, it's the whole point of it. I've never actually used mine yet as i don't know what happens if it fails, i imagine you would then be asked for a password but i'm just guessing.
