Hi folks,

I'm basically needing a laptop for univeristy, which will run drawing and rendering programmes (CAD, Revit, 3DS Max etc) without any real issue...

Now I'm not looking to go overboard on spending, however do require an SSD, as from what I'm aware they're a lot more quick and sturdy!

My budget would be around £750, as I look to purchase an external hard drive worth around £50 for storing my actual files on.

Also, how portable are they? I need to take this too and from uni, and have been informed they are fairly bulky...

How are they in regards heat as well? My last few laptops have got hot due to the rendering tasks etc, and in turn have damaged my hard drive...

with the software you want to use I would possibly go for more RAM as it will help with a heavy workload. I don't know exactly how heavy but I understand it packs a pretty decent weight, though being a 15" screen will help a bit.

Thanks for the reply Angel!

Should the 8GB not be enough for RAM?

Also just checked the weight, and it appears to be 2.3kg.
