Laptop Screen Falling Out of Case

Hi everyone, I recently bought a Defiance Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080) laptop. The first two weeks of usage had no problems, however, now when I open the laptop from closed, the screen itself comes undone with the laptop lid. It seems that the laptop screen is held on *only* by adhesive and not by any mechanical means.

I have already created a ticket with technical support and I am just uploading some photos. I have seen another thread with a similar problem.

I suspect the heat from the system may be causing the adhesive to lose its properties, allowing the screen to become separated from the lid.

That's really bad. Normally there a clips that latch together around the bezel of the screen and the chassis, these just need to be "popped" together, I think I can make out a few in the picture.

A screen certainly should never be held in with glue, that's just mad.

Would it be sensible to wait for a response from technical support first? Thanks for the quick reply!

For anyone who wanted an update on the laptop:

I contacted PCSPECIALIST technical support and they have offered an RMA return and an immediate fix, which was accepted yesterday. I have received an e-mail today informing me that they have used a stronger adhesive this time (still no luck on a mechanical fitting, unfortunately) and will be stress testing it.

During the call, only after asking, the operator offered some sort of goodwill arrangement. I was offered and have taken an upgrade of warranty (standard to gold) for the inconvenience caused. I'm hoping this fix will last!

Well, lesson learnt for me, I had no idea they used adhesive on these chassis.

That's great about the warranty upgrade, well worth having.

Thanks for feeding back, hope you get it back shortly.

Sorry to jump on this, but I've woken up this morning with the exact same thing. I ordered the same laptop just over a couple of months ago.
Devastated because its cracked the screen at the bottom and I have time constraints that means I really can't be without a laptop!
On hold to them now, got through twice already and have been disconnected.

That's very unfortunate. It's good that you have already started to phone them, their online messaging system seems to get swamped and takes a very long time to get a response. Do ask for a goodwill gesture as it seems that they are quite happy to do this for you. Unfortunately, it took around a week to get my laptop back with a stronger adhesive apparently. I'm not sure if it'll hold but I got a warranty upgrade because of the hassle. I think there needs to be a mechanical/clamping system introduced as it seems quite widespread.
