Laptop screen hinges have died.

Laptop model: 17"3 Vortex IV
Age: 3 years.

Call it wear and tear... the hinges have torn through the plastic of the screen as well as snapped off on the inside.
Everything else work's perfectly fine.

Repairable?

If it is, I could go about getting a quote from PCS (if they still have parts)

I have absolutely no idea if its repairable or not (I appreciate that's not really helpful... ), I'd suggest giving PCS a call in any case to see if they have any advice?

Good grief! How has that happened?

The plastic hinge covers do sometimes break on laptops if you open the lid by the corners all the time, laptops really should be opened only by lifting the lid in the centre. I can't imagine what caused the metal hinge itself to break however......

As suggested, a call to PCS is really your best option.
