Laptop screen just died…

Hello,

I am writing you this because litteraly 20 minutes ago, the screen of my laptop died and will not go further after showing (if it manages) the PC Specialist logo. I hear the startup music, but like I said, nothing, pure black screen.

There is another issue that had been going on for a while, or should I say since last time when I sent my laptop to be fixed around November 2021 after purchasing it on September 2021… the screen would suddenly freeze if I changed tabs on my laptop, meaning if I was playing WoW and I switch to my browser to quickly watch a video on Youtube, my screen would freeze and the pixels would gradually die out. Even though I decided to ignore this issue for a year (because it was actually quite rare for it to happen), tonight it came back full force on my laptop. And now I can’t use my laptop.

Must I send it to the PC Specialist headquarters to get it fixed? I’m actually unsure if I still have a warranty. And if I don’t have a warranty anymore, what then?

Thank you and please help me.

If it's showing the PCSpecialist logo, then it doesn't sound like anything wrong with the screen, sounds like a windows issue to me.

I would just do a clean install.

Start it up and shine a torch (or your phone's LED) on to the screen. Do you see any feint image on the screen via the torch/LED light?

UPDATE: the PCS logo doesn’t show up anymore, just a black screen now.
In that case the backlight has likely failed and you'd need a replacement screen.

You'd need to create an RMA

Labour cover is included for 3 years as standard

Parts will be whatever you purchased. If that's run out then you'd have to pay for the replacement parts, but not the work to fit it.
