Laptop Setup

Hi there!

I was recommended to come to this site for a new laptop, and judging by the reviews and such thus far (coupled with the forum, too) I have to say I can see why! Basically, I'm looking to get a new laptop which is going to double up as a gaming PC. The tower I have now is on its way out, and my wife starts steaming out the ears when her beautiful living room is ruined by the red-lit case of my current machine. So, this time round we're going for a laptop, which will be stuck on a desk and plugged into a screen with keyboard/gaming mouse when doing things that need better viewing, but also that can remain portable round the house for when the other half is doing uni stuff.

The setup I've come up with is the following:

Vortex IV 15.6"
Matte Full HD LED Widescreen
Intel i7 Quad Core 4700MQ 2.40GHz 6MB
8GB Kingston HYPER-X Genesis 1600MHz DDR3 (2 x 4GB)
nVidia GeForce GTX-770M 3GB DDR5
750GB SCORPIO 7200RPM
6x BluRay ROM/8x DVD RW

So that's the bulk of it. My main issue really is having been out of the computer world for so long I've lost touch with what is compatible with what and what works best, especially in laptop realms, so if anyone could give me some advice or recommend anything I could change, fire away! Many thanks in advance.

Not sure what £35 a month is but I would try to get a cheaper drive like the Scorpio black, a killer 1202 wireless card and push for the gtx 780m if it is mainly for gaming
