Laptop spec

Been lurking for a bit trying to decide what to buy. I very nearly bought a MacBook Pro with touch bar but then decided I would get a lot more bang for my buck on here.

My HP Envy DV7 7335ea decided it didn't wanna be friends anymore, maybe it knew I was looking at replacing her with a newer and better model, so it decided to make the hdd drive 1 redundant. I wasn't going to scrap it, just put the old girl into semi retirement...........women..............I did buy a crucial ssd drive to replace it but I am still having problems getting it to work so if anyone is tech savvy and wants to give me some pointers it would be appreciated

The laptop will be used for watching movies some gaming and some basic photo editing, and obviously web browsing. I want it to be fast.

What do you think of this spec?

Whatever the wife is worth and I will throw in a Labrador. I guess that will get me a laptop that can't run the first edition pacman.

Seriously I thought £1764 was plenty lol I could stretch to what I would have paid for the Mac £2350.

The 7820HK is only 100MHz faster than the 7700HQ and is £70-80 more. You're not likely to notice that difference in most games. Indeed the 6700HQ is currently over £300(!) cheaper than the 7280HK such that you could get the Defiance with a GTX 1070 and it would be cheaper than the above by ~£70.

You're not likely to notice the difference between the 6700HQ, 7700HQ, and 7820HK for the uses you've described. You could benchmark it, but for fairly casual uses I would be surprised if you felt the difference. You would however feel the difference in the higher fidelity and longer lifespan before being obsolete from games from having the GTX 1070.
