Laptop Upgrades?

So I'm currently looking at the Defiance III 15 or the Proteus IV 15 for their GTX 1060 + i7 but I noticed the Defiance can get a 3K screen and a GTX 1070. My question is can I eventually upgrade to the 1070 + 3K screen or is it once I have my laptop, I can only upgrade the RAM and storage?

Basically that.

The GPU's soldered to the mobo so you're stuck with what you buy. Even if it wasn't, you'd probably still be stuck with it - either because future generations won't be compatible, or simply due to the expense, complexity, and poor value of upgrading laptop GPUs.

Given that even the GTX 1070 will struggle to game at 3k with more demanding titles today, let alone the future, and that there's no gsync on the 3k screen, I'd suggest sticking to 1080p.

The Defiance has a gsync screen at 1080p, so does have the edge over the Proteus there.

For me that would easily be enough to justify the £30 price difference.

I think the Defiance also has a bit better sound, mDP video output, and TPM. But the Gsync and the extra 2.5" bay would be enough for me.
