Hi, hopefully someone can help me, ive had my laptop for about a month now and all has been great, however all of a sudden it just wont turn on anymore, i used it before going to work, shut it down as normal and now a few hours later and it wont turn on and the lights to say its getting power from the mains arent on either, its completely dead. Anything i can do or do i just need to get in touch with PCSpecialist.

Cheers

Pull the battery out, disconnect it from the charger and then hold the power key down for about a minute. Then plug it back into the mains. Are any of the power lights on? If not then the charger is likely to be dead. Remove the charger and plug in the battery. When you switch on do any lights at all come on (however briefly)?

It could be that your charger has failed and now the battery is flat.

Im starting to feel daft now but do you know where those tabs are, cos theres nothing on the bottom of the laptop and doesnt appear to be anything on the sides anywhere either.

Finally managed to get the battery, turns out its a different panel held in by screws, so i followed the instructions above and got nothing at all from just the charger however when i used just the battery and tried to power it on one of the lights flickered very quickly, so i guess the charger is bust?

Sounds that way. Either that or the charging circuits in the laptop are dead. Give PCS a call.

EDIT: You have checked that the mains power to the charger is good? No blown fuse or anything? It wouldn't be the first time! :)

Sorry about that, didn't realise it was screwed in, very unusual.
