If you wouldn’t mind giving me your opinions on this spec please.

The laptop will be used mainly for editing photos, surfing, YouTube, and watching movies and tv series on. I want it to be quick and with a good amount of storage for photos and movies. I may use it for gaming at some point if I can drag myself away from the PlayStation.

Better Laptop

I have decided to push the boat out and get a better laptop. I have also decided that I will use it for gaming. I have only ever used an Xbox and a PS4 but from what I read I am missing out on my gaming.

So the laptop will be used for gaming, watching movies, YouTube, and storing movies, tv series and lots of photos.

I am not really pc savvy so any help would be appreciated thanks.

Is the spec below ok and have I got drives right?

I want to get this ordered before lunch if I can.

That is a strange choice of drives IMO. I assume (which is always dangerous) that the 250GB drive will be for Windows & programs and the 1TB drive for user data? If that's the case you want the Windows & programs drive to be the fastest you can get it (ie. a Samsung EVO M.2) and the data drive can be a SATA SSD (like the 860) or even a 7200rpm hard drive.

Yes, that makes much more sense. However, although that 1TB SSD for user data will make a noticeable difference to the loading time of the images you edit (you won't see the screen painted) it won't make any noticeable difference to your other uses (YouTube, watching movies/TV series, or surfing), nor will you see much of an improvement over a regular HDD for most other user data - and music and video get no performance benefit from being on an SSD at all. You could almost certainly swap that 1TB SSD for a 1TB 7200rpm HDD and save a ton of money without sacrificing very much in overall performance (even with images). Of course, the SSD will be completely silent whilst the HDD will make the odd soft click (possibly).
