LED Strip on 15,6" RECOIL III GTX won't turn off

It wasn't a problem until it started flickering on one side whenever it transitions beween colours (except red).

I have gaming centre installed but the option to turn this off - (Image projection - select off to disable the LED light strip) does not work.
The option for keyboard backlight works fine. its just the LED strip... driving me mad now...

Any ideas? Is it a reg key somewhere?
