Linux build for developer £800 budget

Hi there,

Looking to buy a PC ideally in the £600-£800 range) for web development work. We'd like to run NixOS, but will revert to a more standard distro if that becomes difficult.

This PC will be used only for dev work, no gaming or other use, aside from web browsing. We run multiple docker containers, so I suspect that we will need 32 GB of RAM, a good SSD and a decent processor. No graphics work at all. Would this be suitable, or anything I should change?

Help very much appreciated, thanks!

No point to the 3600x. It's barely any faster than the 3600, but costs a lot more.

Ryzen CPUs can benefit a lot from faster RAM so you could jump to 3000MHz. If storage speed matters a lot, you could consider the WD Black SSD from the M.2 SSD menu.
