Logitech Z313 - No Sound - Warranty claim?

Hello.
There is no sound coming out of my Logitech Z313 speakers. I've checked all wires and cables to see if they're firmly plugged in. Also checked for damage and unplugged/re-plugged. Windows update done with the latest Windows 11 updates, restarted PC, but still nothing. All volume settings are at 100%.
There are 3 different options on the speaker icon on my taskbar: -
1) Speakers (Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer)
2) Realtek Digital Output. Realtek(R) Audio
3) Speakers Realtek(R) Audio
I've tried all 3 but nothing. I've also tried headphones on the volume control, the line-in at the back and front of the PC, but still nothing. I've tried Spotify app, Youtube, and MP3 files on my PC.
Contacted Logitech who weren't much help. They basically suggested to do what I've already done. They have also given me a reference number for a warranty claim which is probably the last resort.

Here is my spec: -

I assume you have the volume turned up and done a troubleshoot. Click the speaker in the taskbar.
Also look in windows settings -> sound control panel. If there's an option for Realtek HD audio 2nd output then make that the default.

Mine started to default to 'mute'. Trouble is, this was several years ago, now I can't remember how I fixed it, sorry :(

I remember going into Audio, Properties, and getting 'the room with speakers' screen up. And trying different things in there, including changing from Realtek HD audio, to Nvidia HD audio, and back again. Doing something in there fixed it temporarily. But every time I shut my computer down, I'd have to fix it again after booting up. I think it just stopped doing it on it's own in the end. Possibly 2 driver updates, the first one caused it, the second one fixed it?
Also, the speaker on the taskbar didn't fix it. I'd click on it, volume set at mute, with the red x over the speaker symbol. So I'd move the slider up. The red x would disappear and I'd have sound, but as soon as I released the slider, it would snap to the bottom and the red x was back.

Just had a thought. I've got keyboard media controls (I did then as well), is the sound muted by your keyboard control buttons, if you have them? Even if, or especially if, you don't normally use them???

I had to remove the Sonic Studio rubbish from mine to get my Creative speakers to work reliably.

It keeps installing itself for some reason.
I can't see any "Sonic Studio" on the apps list in my control panel, therefore can't remove it!

Yep, all volume sliders are 100%. No option for a "2nd output" though. I've tried using all those 3 I listed as a default but still no sound.

It does have volume control. I've muted and unmuted but nothing.

I've done a system restore and nothing. Before doing the system restore I could see that MP3 files were playing, but no sound. I then went into my control panel>Realtek Audio Console>Advanced Options, then "Repair" and "Reset". But now when I try to play MP3's it says "it uses unsupported encoding settings 0x800706BE" - another problem!! I've also restarted "Windows Audio" in services.msc, but nothing.
Is it worth uninstalling drivers and letting Windows reinstall them? Not sure which ones are essential - these are the ones listed in my device manager: -

I may try plugging in a different speaker system and see.

Have you looked in both 'app' areas - it might be under 'A-Volute'
  1. Control Panel > Programs and Features
  2. Windows Settings > Apps
Also, do you have Armoury Crate installed, as that is where it normally comes from, and may reinstall it on reboot 🤬

There's no "A-Volute" or Sonic Studio in the method you suggested. I do have Armoury Crate and Armoury Crate Lite installed, however...

I've just done a troubleshoot again via settings>system>troubleshoot>other troubleshooters. Then Windows Update troubleshoot and Playing Audio troubleshoot.
Weirdly, errors were found in both even though they weren't there when I did it the first time. They have now been fixed. Hopefully it won't magically disappear again when I restart my PC!

I would uninstall armpty crate whatever you do, it's a pain at the best of times.
