Looking for the best possible PC with a budget of £1200

Heya, am looking for the best possible set up of a gaming PC.
My budget is £1200.

Currently looking at:

Processor (CPU)
AMD PHENOM II X4 970 (3.50GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3) - BLACK EDITION

Motherboard
ASUS® SABERTOOTH 990FX - TUF SERIES MILITARY GRADE MOTHERBOARD

Memory (RAM)
4GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 2GB KIT)

Graphics Card
1.5GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 580 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready

will upgrade to sli in future when gtx 580 gets behind on other cards.

Any reasons for the choice of the motherboard?

The below spec is something along the lines of what you are looking for. The standard 1333Mhz ram should be perfectly fine for you, consider the CPU upgrade to the 980, and i downgraded the motherboard, you have room to put it back up to the sabertooth should you wish and still come in at budget.

id probably spend some of the left over cash on a better case, otherwise the 580(s) will get toasty
