My max budget is £1650 and i am using a AOC 27 inch 144hz monitor. I am looking to purchase the nzxt Kraken Z63 in the future

yep the monitor is 1440p. What cooler would you recommend, i will not be able to afford to buy the cooler straight away from PCS but i should be able to within the coming month or so.

Thank you very much, is the 2070 super able to edit 4K 120 fps as i do a lot of action sports editing such as snowboarding. I have a 4k monitor setup in my office as well with a refresh rate of over 100 hz if i can remember correctly.

I believe it can yes but it will need a second opinion as I am not sure @SpyderTracks or @Scott Could one of you have a look please as not sure on 4k editing? Thanks
Editing isn’t like a gaming scenario so you don’t match the GPU to the screen, it’s all about the GPU essentially becoming its own rendering machine, so the higher you can spec it within budget the better as any decent editing suite will make use of hardware acceleration.

I’d spec the GPU as high as I could for 4k editing.

I assume that, even with 4k editing, the CPU still bears the brunt of the workload though? So get as high a GPU as possible but not at the CPUs expense?
Within reason. If budget is tight then yes, spec a decent multicore processor, really for any kind of video editing you want an RTX GPU as the absolute minimum as hardware acceleration will offer just as much encoding workload as CPU. In professional rendering farms, it's all GPU's, just banks and banks of them in series.

I would say the original build is probably more balanced for rendering.

I would say it's definitely worth holding off to get more value for your money. For me, if the priority is editing then I would consider the following priorities:

CPU - You want as many cores as fast as you can get them. This is the main budget eater IMO.
RAM - For 4k you're looking at 32GB absolute minimum, I would personally want 64GB but as an option a scratch drive would help considerably.
GPU - The more CUDA cores the better. As suggested you want this as high as you can get it within the budget but I wouldn't sacrifice the above 2 to get it.

With the above in mind:

3800XT is the absolute minimum that I would recommend. The 3900X would make more sense though given the cost difference.
X570 motherboard would be recommended as there's only around £30 difference and it opens up better VRM capacity for CPU selection. The 3900X will like this at full chat.
32GB of 3200Mhz RAM would be my minimum with a 250GB M2 scratch drive in tow
GPU - Whatever fits within the budget. The 2060 is the minimum that I would recommend for any professional applications.

With regards to the GPU specifically, the next generation are out in the coming months. This will get you a tier above performance for the same price. For example, you will get 2080 Super power for the price of a 2070 (approx) if you were to purchase the 3070.

Same money (ish) when you consider next gen 3070. I would VERY strongly recommend the H100i RGB platinum or the H115i RGB platinum with that chip. The 240 Coolermaster should manage OK but it won't do it effortlessly, you're gonna hear it on full chat.
