Looking to upgrade my current gaming pc

My current PC is a RTX 2060 6GB, I5 10400. It is a prebuilt HP omen that I purchased years ago and I am looking to purchase a new PC that I can further upgrade when necessary, which is extremely hard to do so with the HP omen I have.

Have done some reading through other forum posts, with a 1000w PSU suitable for future upgrades.

I play mostly 1080p looking to move into 1440p.

Just want to make sure build is ok and hardware works well together, as well as any ways to possibly reduce the overall cost.

Looks pretty unimpeachable. You definitely want to run it with a 1440p display though: 1080p would be a waste!

If I were to stick with 1080p, which might be the better option for me for money reasons, what should I change? I was looking around online and saw that the 7700xt has been recommended as a good 1080p card that is capable of pushing 1440p.

It has also been stated that there is a pretty big performance gain from the 7700xt to the 7800xt for a relatively small amount of money but for a mostly 1080p setup, is there any reason to spend the extra money for the 7800xt if I don't own a 1440p monitor yet?

There's no way I'd suggest spending in the region of £1900 to play at 1080p. I'd save money on the build instead. Here, for instance, is something £180 cheaper that would still do an awesome job of 1440p gaming, and give you a nice chunk of cash to put towards a 1440p display.

There aren't really any cards I'd recommend for 1080p now: a 7700 XT would do very very well at 1080p, but I could hardly consider it good value.

Thank you again for the suggestion, I will keep that in mind for when I purchase the PC.
One final question - do PCS update the BIOS and set the XMP of the RAM before they send the PC out or will I have to do that when the PC arrives.

If you order with windows, the whole system is fully setup.

If you order without windows, the BIOS will be setup, but you'd have to install and configure windows.

Hello, I did a little bit more tweaking to try to reduce the price to a much more reasonable price point.

The main change is the processor, changing the 7700 to a 7500f which I have read is a really good CPU for the price and works well with the 7700xt.
The price difference between the 7700xt and 7800xt is over £100, and for my current needs the 7700xt seems to work great in 1080p and 1440p. Just want to make sure before I order.

The 7500F saves you £50 over the 7700. I think that's a poor cost saving as it is less capable, will be sufficient for less time, and lacks integrated graphics, which can be useful in a pinch.

The £105 saving between the 7800 XT and 7700 XT is more worthwhile. I still think gaming on that system at 1080p is a bit of a waste (I have a less capable PC that happily goes at 1440p), so I would urge you to upgrade that monitor too.
