loving my new computer from PCSpecialist

there doesn't seem to be a dedicated forum section to post these types of posts, but since most people post their pcspecialist experiences here, i'll do it too.

i had my computer arrive a week ago, on Saturday, and thought i'd check it out for 7 days to see if everything was OK.
it's a great piece of kit and absolutely smashes my previous 7 year old computer for speed and looks!

Only took 10 working days to get to me as well, so yes, it is possible to get your computer in a quicker time that the standard times that the website gives, without having to pay extra. :)

i did find it strange that when i checked my computer order at 9am on the 8th day, it still said it was in Pre-production, then at 9.30am it had been built and by midday it had gone through Testing. i guess they're just very efficient once it gets past pre-production ;)

i couldn't be happier with my experience here and my computer

This thread is more suited to "show off your new PC/Laptop!" so I moved it for you.

Anyway glad your enjoying your new rig. Perhaps post up your specifications too so people can see what you bought and if possible a few pictures so people can see what the insides look like etc.

Its not unusual for things to speed up dramatically after pre production is over.

That is a real nice system, would have been just as well getting the 1TB caviar black as its only like £9 more. Apart from that it looks really good.

i was tempted to get a larger harddrive but i was always going to take the harddrive from my old system and put that into the new, anyway. seems like such a waste to have that much storage space and never use it :D

oh I see, mine's been 'processing' for 5 days now :[

Might be worth calling the call centre just to double check nothing went wrong in the process. if its showing up as cleared in your internet banking then might be worth checking with PCS they have the funds assigned properly to your order.

I emailed them today and am awaiting reply. A few days ago they told me the power supply i chose was out of stock and they have to order it in but I would have thought this would have happened within the 'pre production' part?

Yeah that's right, it should go through processing fairly quickly. Just be aware emails can take a few working days to respond to, if your in a hurry the best bet is to call.

My laptop order has been processing for 8 days. I was a bit concerned as the website indicates there can be another week at preproduction after.

I spoke to pc specialist yesterday and they expect my laptop to be built either Monday or Tuesday.

Perhaps they forget to switch the status part a bit and my computer will arrive 10 working days after i ordered it:) here's for optimism?
