We’d need a bit more info:

What game are you getting those frame rates?

What make and model monitor are you using?

Did you order with or without windows?

Thank you for the reply,

The game is Call of Duty Warzone.

My monitor is a 144hz msi.

My pc came with windows 10 already on it. This was ready built from PC Specialist.

However I have just ordered a 360hz Alienware monitor which should arrive this week.

Kind regards,
Chris.

What resolution?

All pc's come with windows preinstalled, but if you didn't order it, it's just a test install and can't be used (as it's not set up) Did you order it with Windows?

However I have just ordered a 360hz Alienware monitor which should arrive this week.
Again, what resoution? And why?

What's your budget for the upgrades? There are a couple you could do that would make a big different, but I'm not certain you're clear on what a 360Hz monitor means. Are you coming from consoler per chance?

You are 100% correct and I have always been on console and have minimum experience with gaming on a PC and what monitor Is best for me. I have canceled my order for a new monitor as the delivery date was January anyway. I got the feeling you don't think It's worth buying the monitor.

Below Is everything that was on my order for my build from PC Specialist.

I did add x2 more 8gb corsair RAM sticks into the slots next to the x2 8gb that the PC came with. Again i thought this might help but I don't know enough. It was just suggested to me that i got more RAM. This was about a year ago.

Thanks for the extra detail, and apologies, I wasn't intending to call you out in any way, there is just an awful lot of misinformation on places like youtube by "influencers" who push high refresh screens because console users have seen the benefit of going from 60fps to 120fps and are led to believe that scales everso upwards.

Unfortunately that just isn't the case, with high refresh, it doesn't impact picture quality in any way, it's still 1080p, and the vast majority of humans can't appreciate any difference over about 120Hz, that's why 144Hz is the general sweetspot for PC gaming. All high refresh does really is increase POSSIBLE reaction times by very finite margins, we're literally talking a few micro seconds going from 144Hz up to 360Hz, but again, only a tiny fraction of humans are physically and mentally able to make any benefit of that.

What DOES make a much bigger impact is scaling up resolution and having enough GPU power to drive those extra pixels.

On your build there are definitely a few areas that we could improve to give significantly better performance overall.

But all depends on your budget? And you haven't mentioned what resolution your monitor is, could you name the make and model?

Honestly I'm not offended and I'm just really appreciative for the help as I'd class myself as basic when It comes to these things. I'm just not bad on the sticks when playing and want to get the best advantage. The main reason for me changing to PC was to try getting that advantage that i saw all content creators getting and feel I may not be. I believe this is the monitor I am using. MSI 27" Optix G272 1080p 144Hz 1ms IPS FreeSync Gaming Monitor.

As for a budget I'd want to keep It as cheap as possible as we all would but If I'm 100% going to get more performance out of it then I would definitely think spend up to £350 If i didn't need a new monitor as well.

Another thing will good or bad internet connection effect performance? It runs well enough to not lag but It for sure isn't the best.

Thank you,
Chris

So with that budget a 360Hz monitor is going to have zero impact whatsoever even if you were at competetitve level

I’ll go through a few things a bit later, just got a meeting need to attend

Brilliant. Thank you for your time.

Chris.
So you're quite heavily limited by budget unfortunately.

But the first thing to do would be to replace the RAM.

Get 2 x 16GB of 3200MHz to replace your current DIMMS. That's going to be around £70

I would also replace the primary M2 drive for a decent Gen 4 SSD, at least 500Gb but I'd suggest 1Tb these days. Roughly 70 - £100

Then I would personally see if you can squeeze in a CPU upgrade to a 5800X3D which is roughly around £280 and should see improved performance at 1080p.

PC gaming is nothing like console, there is no such thing as Max Graphics, that's simply used for benchmarks. With any modern game, you have to optimise graphics settings to net the best performance while not hampering graphics quality. PC games are designed to have future growth as new technologies emerge, so they'll never run well at full settings until many years later.

Just additionally, if you're at all uncertain about making these upgrades yourself, you can get PCS to do it for you, you just go to the Upgrades section on your order and go from there.

This Is great thank you. I think I will watch some tutorials on how to fit myself. It's quite pricey to have It sent off fitted and buying the parts from PCS.

Thank you again for all your help.

Chris.

Fitting the RAM is quite simple, shut down the pc, turn the psu of but leave everything plugged in, undo the clips at the end of the RAM, gently pull the old RAM out, posh the new RAM in and listen for the clips clicking back closed, then you are good to go

Great. Am i right in saying that when i bought x2 extra 8gb RAM sticks over a year ago and put them into the 2 available slots they are useless? I have today purchased x2 16gb RAM sticks and plan to replace the 2 original stick that the PC came with.
