Lying cases on their side

Hi all, is it possible to lie a PC case on it's side and it still function OK? Presumably the side without the vent on so the cooling wouldn't be effected.

You shouldn't have an issue with it, just don't go sliding it about a lot due to any possible static electricity. Make sure its the right way as well, the motherboard needs to be laying down and not hanging from the top of the case.

That sounds good. The case I've ordered is 36x17x35 and won't fit under my big telly to play WoW unless I can lie it on it's side. I assume all the gubbins inside are attached to the back of the case so as long as I don't block any vents etc it should be OK.

Yes it won't be a problem, in some ways it is better for it to lay on its side as its a more natural position for the motherboard and its components. But putting it upside down could cause issues. The correct side to put on the bottom is usually the right side if you are looking at it from the front and standing up straight.
