I played the first one I think it was on a friends pc but was put off the series by the controls as he only used a mouse and keyboard. I have thought a couple of times about buying the last one dirt cheap on amazon and then buying a joystick.

I wouldn't mind if I thought I could get into it, is it actually difficult to get to grasp of controlling navigating & landing planes in MSFS?

I have used Ms Flt Sim for several years now and I find it rxcellent.
I use a Joystick and can take off, land or manoveure just as if I was actullay flying. Also the rang of aircraft that you can actually us e is also good.

Not my cup of tea to be honest. Played it before and it seemed slow and boring. No offence to people that like that lol.

Its actaully a very true to life program, people use it when actually properly learning to fly, there are enthusiasts who actually have a fully working cockpit set up with like 8 monitors, impressive if nothing else!!!
