Migrating two different windows onto one external backup drive.

Is it possible to migrate and save two different windows (WinXP & Win7) onto one external drive as a backup.

If so what is the sequence of events to achieve this task.

Yes. The way I'd do it is to use a disk imaging tool (I use Macrium Reflect Free). These take an image of whatever disk you choose and write it out as one or more files to an external drive. You can write disk images from many different systems to the same external disk.

You then make a recovery disk/USB stick using whatever tool you use so that you can boot that to restore the original disk image.

Thanks for your valued advice.
