Hi all,
I'm looking to buy a mini pc for my wife as a birthday present. Our old Alienware Alpha, while it has done a stellar job for the almost 10 years we've had it, is getting old now and beginning to struggle with a lot of things. I feel it's almost time to retire the poor thing.
Their set up makes a mini PC the most convenient option as opposed to a full sized tower, but I'm not entirely sure how much that will restrict the kinds of components I can put into it and what kind of performance I could expect from a mini PC compared to something bigger.
We play a lot of games together and looking for something that can keep up. Currently playing Baldur's Gate 3 (She's currently using my Steam Deck due to the Alpha not being up to scratch to run it without issue), and we're looking to play things like Nightingale together when it's released, so if there was something in that range that would be able to run both of those games smoothly that would be ideal.
I've got a budget of about £1,100 - £1,200, but would consider shifting that price point if it means a markable difference in longevity or quality.
Any help or recommendations would be sincerely appreciated!
