hi

im considering a Mini PC with the following specs,

Inwin Mini-ITX BP655 Case + 200W PSU
AMD ATHLON II X2 260 (3.20GHz/2MB CACHE/AM3)
ASUS® M4A88T-I DELUXE: 880G Chipset, 2x DDR3, 2 x USB 3.0, 6 x USB 2.0
8GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (2 x 4GB)
1GB AMD RADEON™ HD6450 - DVI,HDMI,VGA - DX® 11
2TB WD CAVIAR GREEN WD20EARS, SATA 3 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE
12x BLU-RAY ROM DRIVE, 16x DVD ±R/±RW

i want to use it as a Media centre (unfortunately my TV cabinet doesnt have the space for one of your HTPC cases) would this be able to run full HD 1080p MKV movie files on a 46" HD TV?

also would this spec be able to play blu ray movies stutter free without dropping frames ? (i had this problem on a previous build ). and what would the noise be like on this spec ?
or would i be better off with an Intel based mini PC of similar spec ? realistically i would like a mini PC that runs quietly and is able to run HD content stutter free.

im looking forward to your suggestions.

Well, with AMD in my opinion you get more bang for your buck, and i have that processor in my system, and it's great :) If money had permitted me, i would have gone for the X4, but the X2 is great :)

Also, you might be better off getting a Caviar Black as your HDD as it'll boot faster :)

I don't see any reason why it would stutter, the specs look fine to me :)

great stuff thank you for the feed back, i went with that HDD to keep the power down since the psu is only 200.

just waiting for pay day then i think i 'll be making a purchase !!!:)
