Got my pc back in November 13, never needed to use the front usb3 until a couple of weeks ago, it didn't work. got round to opening it up to take a look yesterday only to find the usb3 port at the front is not connected!! just a wire from the port ending in a plug just lying loose in the bottom of the case.

had a really good look at the motherboard to see if it had fallen out but could not see any socket to which it could have been attached!! (same MB as yours.) I'm going to phone PC specialist tomorrow, I'll let you now what happens.

I may be wrong but I don't think that the motherboard in your machine actually has a USB 3.0 header.
When you press proceed in the configurator it tells you that the motherboard (M5A97 LE R2.0) does not have a usb header and that the usb 3.0 ports on the front will be inactive.
You can however use the USB 3.0 ports on the rear IO.
If you needed the front USB 3.0 ports then you could get a usb 3.0 to 2.0 adapter that plugs into the front port headers on the motherboard.

The M5A97 LE R2.0 doesn't have a USB 3 header as TheGeeza mentioned, this is the description in the motherboard spec,
2 x USB 3.0/2.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, blue), 12 x USB 2.0/1.1 port(s) (6 at back panel, black, 6 at mid-board)
but the warning that "Please note that due to the motherboard you have selected not having a USB 3.0 header, the USB 3.0 front ports on this case will not be active." doesn't appear when the PCS DOMINATOR 6806B BLACK CASE is selected,so it could be a glitch on the configurator.
