Mixing different RAM sticks

I've seen this debate all over the web, and hopefully someone here can clear this up.
The desktop I configured here uses the 4gb Samsung ram, which I'm almost certain is this,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/memory-upgr...1S/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1362438526&sr=8-12

I have also just purchased this,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-M...33?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1362439115&sr=1-33

Both are 240-pin DIMM DDR3 memory
Both are CL-9, unbuffered, NON-ECC
Both are 1333mhz

Do you think they will work together? I'm hoping to get 12gb of ram in this machine.

Hmm, I've read that using 3 sticks will cause them all to run at half speed. I guess I'll just use the 2x4gb.

I ran different sticks of RAM for a while and my PC became so unstable because of it. Chrome would crash non-stop, I'd get the BSOD all the time. I had to go out and buy 8GB of the same RAM to make the problems stop.
