Mobo + RAM compatability

Hello all.

I am looking into upgrading the RAM in my PC from 4 to 8gb (2x2gb sticks to 2x4gb sticks) but I am unsure if the RAM i am looking to buy is compatible.

My mobo is an asus M5A78L-M/USB3 and I am looking to get some DDR3 RAM running at 1600mhz. I'll post the rest of my specs at the end of the post.

I checked the mobo manufacturers website and this is what it said for specs.

4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture
* Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
* Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Install a 64-bit Windows® OS when you want to install 4GB or more memory on the motherboard.
* AMD FX Series CPU on this motherboard supports up to DDR3 1866MHz as its standard memory frequency.
* AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz.

I think this means it is suitable but I am not 100% so wouldn't mind some insight before I spend my hard earned cash.

Thanks :)

Worst case scenario the board will just run it at 1333Mhz, which means very little in terms of performance loss. You just go into the BIOS and set the profile to XMP and it should run at 1600Mhz just fine.

So yeah, I cant see anything wrong.
