Hi,
less then 2 years ago I bought a Cosmos 3 notebook and until last night everything was fine. Yesterday I switched it off afternoon and when I plugged it in in the evening I was not able to switch it on. It seams like the device has no juice at all (no charging lite, no Caps/Scroll lock lights, no power button light when trying to switch on). So here is the list of steps I have tried:
-first I thought that the battery is dead and the adaptor is broken, but I measured (with volt meter) the adaptor and it gives about 19.5V (label says 19V), also the battery gives about 11.5V (label says 11.1V)
-I have tried to remove the battery and unplug the power lead and pressed the power button several times (even tried to hold it for 10-30 seconds as suggested on some forums)-no help
-then I have removed also the CMOS battery and tried again the above steps with same results
-someone suggested that if CMOS battery is dead, whole notebook might be dead, so I measured it (it is CR2032 - 3V) and it gives about 3.3-3.5V (I don't remember exactly)
-then I have suspected faulty power button so I did some research and found out that most notebooks can be turned on by removing battery and then connecting the power lead (please correct me if I am wrong), which did not work for me either
-then I have tried to remove basically all the hardver (SSD, CD-rom, RAMs, WIFI, later also CPU) and tried to turn it on, with no luck
So after trying all this with no response from the machine at all my only 2 ideas are that it is either faulty power button or faulty motherboard.
Does someone know how much would it be to get it diagnosed by PCSPECIALIST and possibly how much roughly is the motherboard.
I have 3 year Silver Warranty (1 Year collect & return, 1 Year parts, 3 Years Labour)
