What are you going to be using the PC for?
Gaming? Video editing? Both? Something else?
If you let us know it will enable people to give useful responses :)

Sorry, I've just changed the title.
It's for gaming.
I'd like to get max settings for games like Crysis 3 and BF3 but I'm not too clued up you see.

What's your max budget?

Thinking of overclocking, adding an SSD in the future or multiple graphics cards?

SSD's are a great little addition to a PC, but usually only really find their way into a spec if you have a fairly sizeable budget as you are often better off spending the money elsewhere. If youre thinking of adding one later, stick to that plan, you'll need a motherboard with SATA 6.0gb/s though.

I'll put a spec together as an option although im sure someone is already beavering away on the config as i speak...

I checked the specs of the current motherboard and it didn't have my CPU listed as compatible. But the slightly dearer one with (6Gb SATA) did have. Would it be a good idea to upgrade? It's just £18 more which I can afford.

You could do.

Just to give my option a bit more explanation. The spec I posted should perform better in games than your op. The GTX 670 is a fantastic card and because most games are dependant on the graphics card, this should provide Ultra detail on the most demanding games with better fps than the HD 7950.

The eight core AMD processor is great but as most games don't tend to utilise more than 4 cores at present I thought you could probably get away with lowering this slightly.

The 2400mhz RAM is only used by people wishing to overclock. Likewise with the Hydro cooler, not really needed unless overclocking.

I also gave you a slightly smaller case, partly because of budget constraints but also as you don't seem to want a multiple gpu set up, so cooling should be adequate with the Carbide 200R.

The motherboard has the 6Gb/s but no Crossfire or SLI support for multiple cards.

The HDD is smaller in size but has better performance than the one you posted, the 1TB version takes you to £920.

If you just changed the RAM, cooler and motherboard on your spec though it would still be a very capable machine.

No problemo. Tbh you're right on the cusp of putting an intel spec together, which you should perhaps also look into. The intel cpus perform better in games than the AMDs tend to, but ultimately the gpu makes the most difference.
