Hello, so im looking to tick off a long term wish of having my own gaming computer!

I mainly want this computer to run the total war games in pretty high graphics, as well as games likes warband.

I would only really class myself as a casual gamer so if I can I don't really want to spend more than £900 on the actual unit, which I know will limit what I can get. I know it also depends on the type of monitor, which I would also really like some suggestions for?

I am a complete novice to all of this so apologies if im not being clear on anything - but any help would be greatly appreciated before I go ahead and make the purchase.

Hi there,

What budget do you have available for the monitor?

The spec you have listed is £970 rather than £900. Are you looking to shave the money off or are you willing to spend the extra money to get a better spec?

I think between £100 - £200 for the monitor? but im not sure if im being realistic. All in all I wouldn't want to spend more than say £1200 for the desktop and monitor?

so if it meant getting a better spec then I would spend a bit more than the £900 yes.

Paired with a monitor such as the MSI OPTIX MAG241CPUK would be ideal. Monitors are getting hard to come by now though. That one in particular is normally £180-£200 but at the moment the only places that have it in stock have inflated prices.

At 1080p, it'll be absolutely fine fine for high refresh or high fidelity gaming. The 1660 Super is the real sweet spot for high end 1080p.
