I just received yesterday my laptop an I can say it is great. However, didn't expect it will be heavier than my old one but it's fine with me. It'll be my friend for the next 3 years of Computer Science course.
I won't make any reviews because there are already a lot in internet and I think it isn't necessary. However, don't ask me why I choose 7970m. I know very well that currently there is a issue with Enduro but I decided to bet that AMD will fix the problem and even if they don't fix it I think it will work very well. The difference between 7970m and 675m were around £50 so better risk, and if isn't working you can always downgrade. In addition, if you ask me way not 680m, I'll say noooo way tooo expensive for me.
What about the RAM, you will ask? The RAM is already upgraded to 8GB 1600Mhz, find really cheep one. In the future I'll add more. Furthermore, I'm waiting for new SSD 128GB Samsung 830 Sata3, I wish PC Specialist had this one but they didn't so I decided to do it my self. Anyway, I have no problems of doing any upgrades myself as I already said, I'm computer scientist and have studied about, and worked with computers for the last 10 years.
DVD, I don't need one, haven't use one for the last 3 years. So, basically the laptop will run on 8GB Ram + 128SSD for operating system and few programs and 250HD for my files. I'm note sure if I'll use it for gaming, most probably for devices emulation and programming, where you need a powerful laptop with good cooling system, which were the reasons I decided to purchase Vortex III.
I wish to apologise for any grammar mistake as English isn't my first language and I still do mistakes. I hope for the next 3 years I can polish it.
