Hey,
My PC arrived this morning! Before I took out the order I wondered how other people's stages went with PC Specialist, so I've posted my timeframes which have been pretty much to schedule. Remember this is an individual PC and your time frames may be completely different depending on their stocks etc.
Processed Date 01-03-2012
Pre-Production Date 08-03-2012
Build Date 13-03-2012
Test Date 15-03-2012
In Quality Control 15-03-2012
Awaiting Dispatch 16-03-2012
Dispatched 16-03-2012 (11th working day) (Friday)
Delivered 19-03-2012 (12th working day) (Monday)
Currently their average wait is showing as just under 15 working days. This was over 17 working days when I first placed my order though, which is a good sign. My guess is that one reason for longer build times are the result of parts which are harder to obtain due to high global demand. For example, the graphics card I originally ordered (GTX 590) is a bit hard to get on short notice from all suppliers at the moment, and after discussion with PC Specialist customer services I decided to buy it from a 3rd party supplier (which is another, less happy story but OK in the end). I was aware that there would be a possible delay though, because the item on PC Specialist's site did say "Pre-Order" which was helpful.
And the verdict on the system? Absolutely awesome, thanks PC Specialist
I hope this is of use to those of you with time-frame queries.
