So my PC has 2 Usb ports located on top, the right one i have noticed when unplugging something, the computer will abruptly switch off as if there was a power outage.. it doesn't do it all the time but does happen pretty frequently both ports are right next to the power button, the right one (the furthest) is the one giving me issue..

Anyone have any ideas? not sure if it's a contact issue, where depending on the force of the unplugging it could trip the power...or the fact that my PC is on a desk that isn't 100% sturdy so a slight tap on the desk or even rapid keyboard typing tends to shake the desktop...

It did cross my mind if the act of removing a USB causes a loose connection or short on the power connection back to the motherboard. Might be worth checking if the cable from the power switch is loose at the button or the motherboard. Check your motherboard manual for location of power jumpers (prob bottom right of board).

Aside from that, I'd be looking at the event viewer to see if there was anything logged in relation to the shutdown in case it was a software issue. Try these steps on how to access the logs and filter to shutdown events: https://winaero.com/find-shutdown-log-windows-10/

Thanks for that, so i tried the 2nd method in event viewer and it's saying "The Previous system shutdown at (time) on (date) was unexpected" so...back to square one i guess....i'll have a look if anything is indeed loose.

That's typically once the system has rebooted. If you check for the events prior to that, it may give an indication of the error. For a hard reboot it's typically a memory reference error or relating to WHEA (commonly called BSOD)
