Choosing a System

I have to say, I was really impressed with PC Specialist’s web site, and the auto drop down menus for components. It was clear and concise, and even warned me I didn’t need a 600W PSU, so I could save money. And also, after browsing the forums and asking a question or two and advice from a few forum members, I tweaked my order (CPU and MB) to the above.

Ordering

A complete doddle. I went down the Finance route, and it was all approved and sorted within a few minutes. Really impressed with the service.

Notifications during Building

This was the most painful part! As you will all know, once your system is ordered, and money has changed hands, you just want it there and now! I ordered my system on 18/03/13. Around the 27/03/13 I emailed the team from work to ask for a progress report. When I got home, I realised that they had already emailed me earlier in the day to explain there had been a lot of orders, and mine would shortly enter the building stage.

True to their word, on 03/04/13, my system was built, tested and QC’d on 04/04/13, and dispatched on 05/04/13. Unfortunately, 05/04/13 was a Friday, and I had to wait until Monday 08/04/13 to receive my system.

Delivery

The tracking from DPD was great, as I could see every stop my system made throughout its journey to my home. It was delivered smack on the predicted time from DPD (11.29am), and I got a text to let me know. I then immediately requested the rest of the day off from my boss, who happily obliged, and sped home at 60mph. :0)

System Performance

This system is everything I wanted, and way, way more! The SSD is something I always wanted, and I now boot to Windows in about 20 seconds. I’ve always needed storage, as I have a lot of videos, pictures and music, as I have a 2nd home in Thailand, so I’m always busy with my camera. The extra space with the two 1 x TB Drives is ample, and I can now give my external drive a bit of a holiday.

My old system struggled with most games, such as GTA 4, but my new system laughs in the face of these games. Nowadays, I’m cranking up the settings, and my system in the background whispers, “Go on, a bit more – I CAN DO IT!!!”

Overall

The whole process has been fantastically impressive, and I would recommend PC Specialist to anyone. Their service and quality of build is superb. In fact, I hereby declare my undying love for them, and my desire for their babies.

PC Specialist – I LOVE YOU!!!
