My ssd disconnecting after 30 minutes of use

I have a new pc which I brought from PC specialists an intel i5 4670k on a Asus Z78-a motherboard which I received last weekend running windows 8.1

Which came with a intel 520 240gb ssd this works fine no problems

I put in my spare ocz vertex 4 250 gb sdd which I was going to use for games using the black sata cable that came with the motherboard

I noticed after playing a game on the ocz vertex 4 for about 30mins it would just disconnect itself the game would crash and the ssd vanish from windows and would only reappear after I reset my computer this has happened a few times last week.

Checked temperatures and my ssd's are running at 29c so don't think it's a over heating problem.

This weekend retested the ssd on my old pc and it ran fine no problems even after a 3 hour gaming session. So it doesn't look like the drive is failing.

I know the old ocz vertex 2 using sandforce 12xx controller isn't compatible with Haswell motherboards but as far as I'm aware the vertex 4 shouldn't of had any problems

I have tried updating the filmware on the ocz but it says it already has the latest version but I reinstalled it anyway and still no luck.

I checked the bios sata configuration

SATA MODE selected AHCI

Aggressive LPM Support Auto

SMART Enabled

Hot Plug disabled on all sata ports

Anyone have any ideas?
