On the second screen you could see how thin this laptop is comparing to a coke cork. Sorry for the bad quality of those images, taken from my phone.

So, lets being.
I really want to send a special thanks to the pcspecialist building team, because the time it took to order and get this pc was really short, and it took them only 5 working days, from order to receive the parcel passed only 1 week, which was really fast.
When i ordered my old optimus 13'' it took them 8 days, now it was 5, good job guys!

1. So lemme say something about the case.
Laptop is really thin and light for the parts it holds inside. it is as thin as my ultrabook 410u lenovo, but much lighter, and stronger.
The case is all black, aluminium on the back of the screen, on top of base, under its plastic and the screen frames are plastic as well. Laptop build feels really solid, like it was melted into 1 part, and despite what people says about this laptop, it does not bend that easly, even screen could hold the pressure of closing and opening it from any place you will hold it.
The design itself is AMAZING, pcspecialist laptop additionally does not have the ugly GIGABYTE logo on the back and the front part of the screen, this is a big + for them. It does not look like a 1 thousands pounds rig, however in a color it comes from pcspecialist it feels somehow elitists despite its clean design. Looks like a normal laptop, but you know it will do any job you will throw at it.
I didnt noticed any creacks or other sounds coming from the case when touching it, really well made case.
Screen is decent and sharp. 1080p on this is just enough, colors are magificient and the good brightness, nothing i could complain about really.
Touchpad is decent and works on the edges and corner. Speakers are ok, not the best just a plain ok, due to that these are located at 4 spots on the laptop, could be pretty loud, however the sound is not depth and could be better in my opinion.

2. Thermal and emissions.
I dont know why a lot of people says this laptop is loud during surfing on the internet/idle, because it is not. It is really quiet laptop, when i am not playing any games on it. Different if you play a games that requires some power, then it could get pretty loud indeed.
This a piece of technology hold the temperatures decently if you ask me. Im using my cooling pad with 5 fans and it cools it additionally. The areas where you hold your hands are cool even during a gaming session. The only spot where it is getting pretty hot it is on top of the casis, near hangs and especially the power button, it gets really hot there but not that much to bother you during gaming. CPU temperatures are reasonable during playing games and its temperature varies between 70 and 80 degrees. I guess the GPU has the same. GPU throttling is real in some games, if you put the graphics too high. Temperatures are not really that big comparing to the older version of this laptop (p32w v3), due to the better cpu that has been made in 14nm technology, it produces much less heat like the older model used to.

3. Performance.
What i could say about it.
I got SSD 850 evo samsung into it, 8 gb hyper x impact ram, gtx 970m and a i7-5700HQ cpu broadwell, it does the great job and i dont really know what it is cappable of. All my games on the highest graphics are running on 60 and more fps with v-sync enabled. With samsung SSD, windows loads really quick and the games pops up almost instantly, im really impressed of the samsung ssd performance and i recommend it for anyone who is looking for a fair and decent drive.

4. Overall.
If you are going to buy a razer blade pro laptop, forget about it and get this one, its cheaper, has a better CPU is much less problematic than razer, according to my friend opinion who has it and complain about laptop thermal problems.
Price is reasonable for performance packed into that small and really enjoyable design. Light, powerfull, small, those 3 aspects are the fine compromise found in this one.
If you are looking for a portable and fine laptop, it is the one you are looking for, seriously.
Of course you could buy a laptop with similar parts cheaper or a stronger one with the slighty bigger price, however if you are looking something like a macbook pro or razer blade laptops, this one is a fine and fair alternative from pcspecialist.

At the end i would like to apoligize if my grammar somewhere was goofy in this text, english is not my native language, but i am at the good way improving it! Thanks for read.

Thanks for the review, was a good read, almost considered this laptop for myself.
Any chance you could run some benchmarks and post the results?

I am no expert in this field but I saw a laptop review for the same model of which I have ordered and in the review they ran Unigine valley benchmark 1.0 therefore I will run the same test on my new one when it arrives to compete the scores, it may also be worth running 3D mark 2015 as I think thats one of the latest benchmarks for 3D/gaming. Crystaldiskmark for speeds of the hard disk which I am interested in since Im buying a pci express msata.

If you could un any/all of these it would be great to compare results, alternatively play some games, tell us the screen resolution you used and the graphic settings and the max/min/average FPS you recorded. If enough people do this using the same benchmarks, I will put together a spreadsheet of the various systems and their performances. Would be a great guide for potential buyers.

I'm thinking of getting a similar machine, but for development rather than gaming, any comments on battery life? I'm worried the discrete GPU will make it power hungry.

Most laptops have Optimus technology that way when the discrete GPU is not needed it shuts down completely and you can run the laptop on the internal gpu so expect battery life of an average laptop. The Octane is the only laptop available here i believe that does not come with Optimus. All others do.

Hello!

I am interested in this laptop, is it possible for you to provide some more photos? Or maybe a video of it? Could you also show me how loud is the laptop?

I would be much apreciated! You would help me a LOT!

Also, is there any chance I could have portuguese keyboard layout? There is only UK layout : //

One last thing, what is the difference between INTEL® WIRELESS AC-7260 and the other option INTEL® WIRELESS N-7260 ?

Thank you very much for your time :)

Just been told by PC Specialist that the Defiance II will be released in 7-10 days.. I couldnt find the Defiance above and was told it had been discontinued so i am very happy to hear that a follow up is just around the corner as i haven't bought anything yet.

I've just looked at the Defiance 2 on PCS website and it's looks huge. It says it's 25mm thick, are the pictures of a different model? Yours looks nice and sleek, very different to the Defiance 2 pictures.
