Well I have had my Vanquish 230X for almost 4 weeks..........................................

After having an initial problem with the GPU not working and being RMA`d, all done in a few days, including fault finding through the forum (thank you mantadog) https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?32500-Received-Today

I thought I would share my experience buying a PC from PCS.

Intel Core i5-4670K @ 4.2GHz
16GB Kingston HyperX BEAST @ 2400MHz
ASUS Z87-A Motherboard
120GB Kingston HyperX 3K SSD
1TB SATA III 6Gb/s HDD
3GB AMD Radeon 280X Graphics
CoolerMaster Seidon 120M Liquid Cooler
Corsair TX650M Modular PSU
Corsair 230T Case (NEW!)
Windows 8.1 64bit

PCS have an easy to use web site but I still like to talk to a person when I’m about to spend £999, checked the call waiting times on the site and as stated my call was answered within a minute and after an informative conversation I was £1004 lighter (added silver warranty)

So Processed date 11-02-2014

Test & QC date 06-03-2014

As I said unfortunately the GPU was faulty and I believe that this was caused during transit as they are very large items that just seem to be hanging off the motherboard, I was surprised at no internal packing but it seems some do some don’t. I received and fitted my replacement GPU on the 14-03-2014 and all is good.

I am now playing Thief / assassins Creed IV / sniper ghost warrior and have to say compared to my X box 360 the graphics are excellent, but unfortunately my game play is not, but this is due to not being used to using a keyboard & mouse.

The main reason for purchasing a new PC was because I received a Gopro action camera for xmas and my old intel core duo was not up to video editing at a reasonable speed, well what can I say, my new Vanquish 230X handles this with ease and I’m very impressed.

I upgraded my screen to a IIyama 23” monitor and also purchased a Corsair Raptor K30 gaming keyboard with a Corsair Raptor M40 gaming mouse with the Corsair MM400 mouse mat, whilst they are not the high end gaming keyboard mouse that you can buy I find that they are more than cable for my needs as a newbie to PC gaming.

I did find that the PSU periodically became noisy even when just surfing the web or checking email but after reading that they sometimes take a while to “bed in” I thought I would see what happened and it seems to be true as it happens less and less and this may be the case.

All in all I am very satisfied with my PC from PCS and the support that I have received from the PCS unofficial forum.

Good stuff, always nice to see satisfied people come back and post about it.

Glad everything is fixed to your satisfaction, anything else just pop back and well will get it sorted in no time. (hopefully)
