Hi all,

This will be my first gaming PC. I am looking for future proof built, mostly using for 1440p gaming. I am in temporary address now so I could connect pc only to my 4k OLED TV, which is locked at 60hz anyway but I have no space for monitor/ desk just now, supposed to move to new address in January but because of covid will be moved to end of March at least and I need a pc already at least for video editing for few months before I can set up completely. I had a tough about this build.
Also, Once I moved to new address I will be looking for gpu 3070 Ti or 3080 and pair t with some 1440p monitor up to 27 inch somthing up to 500 pounds. would it be enough or it might be bottleneck? THX!

I am really confused to be honest as I dont want to spend another £1000 on monitor, I am looking for ultra settings 1440p gaming, budget is 1300 for pc (without gpu) and about 400 for monitor, if in honest opinion monitor would cause bottleneck i rather go for a laptop with i7 10750h and rtx 2080 super, even if i hate intel but i can get a good price from one of the retailers with discount for 1600£ (17.3 g sync, i7 10750H & full RTX 2080 Super) which seems to be good deal. I am planning to buy gpu once I moved, somewhere end of march/ april. maybe @SpyderTracks would advise me regards monitor bottleneck?

thanks

Here are my edits. 5600x will handle all your gaming needs. Really can't recommend the 5800x at present as it's only £46 cheaper than the 5900x. With the money saved I've specced you a solid foundation with plenty of room for upgrades.

Below is a nice 1440p monitor for your price point. Would recommend pairing it with a 3060ti, or maybe a 3070 if you wanted to go for all ultra settings on some newer AAA titles.

Case
FRACTAL DEFINE 7 BLACK QUIET MID-TOWER CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4)

Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3600MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
NONE, I ALREADY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2000 MB/R, 1100 MB/W)

thanks a lot mate, this seems to be nice build, do you think 5600x will perform better in gaming then 3700x for example? Im sure i would be able to nicely overclock 5600x with this corsair h115i cooler, does it require any maintenance I mean cooler? Never been on liquid cooling before, case seems to be solid although I would like to have a transparent chassis can I change it to something else or this one is enough for good airflow? Thanks in advance

Yes, 5600x is significantly stronger in single threaded that the 3000 series CPU's, would be far better than the 3700x.

what about monitor, i really like this one which @MrWilson recommended, it has a free sync thought rather than g sync but i dont think it will matter if im looking for 3080 or 3070 ti wouldnt it?
also any of you guys would have some estimated time when ryzen 5000 will come to stock? Im not even gonna ask regards gpu because i know the situation

CPU's are same situation as GPU's at the moment, no one can tell you.

Freesync and GSync monitors both work the same on an NVidia card, literally no difference.

If going for that monitor, you don't need the 3080, 3070 would be more than enough. But that is the 1440p monitor I always recommend because it has full HDR10 support which is normally only found on panels that are significantly more expensive. It's also high end IPS. Very nice monitor.

thanks a lot for this helpful advise, I will think about gpu maybe 3060 ti but I really would like to stay with 3070 for the future, just so i can run anything maxed out on 100+ fps on 1440p even if i know those are 4k gaming cards, will think about it .

many thanks guys

2070 is around the same power as a 3060ti, possibly a little less.

I also just found out that the G5 actually includes HDR10, which is quite frankly madness at the price, it's amazing. So the only real difference between the Asus and the G5 is VA vs IPS.
