Need help building a budget gaming PC.

Hello. I had a mid range laptop that I just had to bin becuase the hard drive broke for , and need help making a new PC. My budget is around £500-£550, but that has to account in the cost for a monitor, mouse and keyboard. Mainly as I said, I will be using it for gaming, videos and work. The games I played on my laptop were Dota 2, and a few others, but my laptop couldn't really handle any more taxing games, such as borderlands, battle field or far cry. If anyone could give me any pointers or suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone.

It would be difficult to fit all you require (gaming desktop, monitor and peripherals) for £550. For a decent gaming PC you are looking at £550 just for the tower.

Ok, I have increased my budget to £650 for everything (So about £550 for the tower), any advice or suggestions as what to build would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
