Need help upgrading my pc

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all well.

I'm slowly upgrading my pc but I'm lost and stuck on what to get next, right now I have the following:

MB - ASrock N68-GS4 FX
CPU - AMD FX-4300
Memory - 12 Gbytes - one stick of 4 PC3-12800 (800MHZ) Kingston and one of 8 TEam Elite 1600
Graphics - Nvidia Gforce GTX 1060 3GB
HD - 1 Tb

I would like to upgrade the motherboard and the CPU next but I'm not sure what is compatible.
I use it mainly to play videgames and would be nice to be able to play the current video games in medium settings.

Anyone can advise me on it?

The forums belong to PC Specialist who build and sell custom PCs and laptops, and as such users can't give advice on self build projects or competitors' specs. You could try an open forum like Tom's Hardware.

In general terms, your CPU is old and quite weak, and may be affecting performance in come titles.

A new CPU would need a new motherboard, and for any modern CPU you'd also need new RAM. And possibly a new Windows licence depending on whether your current one is an OEM licence or not.
