Are you an enthusiast in computers? Do you know how to maintain a network of client PCs, DNS and DHCP servers? Can you manage a network infrastructure? Are you experienced in imaging Windows and are your confident that you can upscale this across a network to deploy to hundreds of systems simultaneously? Do you think logically and have the ability to work under pressure to develop new and improved methods of imaging, and to work with PCS to ensure we continue to evolve as a business and provide the best customer experience possible?

Can you commute to Huddersfield/Wakefield daily?

We have a new position available are we are looking for a suitable candidate to commence work as soon as possible as part of a growing team at PCS.

Responsibilities


o Maintain 4 Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Servers, services in use are:
· Active Directory – Single forest/domain
· 2x DNS Servers
· 2x DHCP Servers
· DFS with Replication
· Replicated WDS Servers
· Replicated MDT Deployment Share​
o Maintain Internal Windows Client PCs Win7/8/8.1
o IP based Telephones (3[SUP]rd[/SUP] party managed)
o Medium scale network infrastructure
o Maintaining clustered Imaging servers to deploy windows to PC’s/Laptops.
· Creating and updating WIM images
· Injecting Drivers
· Fault Finding skills essential​

Experience

Main focus should be on the Deployment side of things as this is where the most work is.

o Windows Server 2012 R2
· PowerShell cmdlets
· Batch file editing, creation​
o Windows Deployment Services (WDS)
o Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2012 (MDT) with heavy use of:
· Task Sequences
· Out-of-box drivers
· Scripting​
o Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK)
· Extensive knowledge of tools such as DISM, ImageX​
o Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 beneficial
o Visual Basic beneficial
o Previous experience with Microsoft Direct Partnership is also beneficial.

Other skills

o Candidates must be very well organised and have strong attention to detail.
o Very good at prioritising their own work loads, whilst maintaining good response times to customer’s expectations (internal customers)
o Must be good at working alone with no internal help, finding solutions to very diverse scenarios.
o Able to analyse business processes and come up with solutions that will improve or streamline the process.
o Able to hop between heavy software development works, in-depth server work as well as deal with day to day IT issues without losing focus of goals.
o Positive and friendly approach to all staff at all levels, during stressful periods.
o General PC fault finding is also beneficial as sometimes during quiet periods the candidate may be asked to assist in the RMA department.

Salary

Competitive pay is available depending on the candidate.

My brother is in the marines - I'll ask him to chopper you back and forth every day.

As long as the chopper lands at some point yeah, im not parachuting and aiming for PCS.

Plus i'm scared of flying so they might need to sedate me.

And im scared of heights.

As long as the chopper lands at some point yeah, im not parachuting and aiming for PCS.

Why not? That's the best part of it, you haven't experience life until you've been cas-evac'd from an operation strapped to a stretcher hanging 10ft below a Lynx mk7 while the trees rush past below you :p

It was a hell of a rush I can tell you, the tree tops were literally just below me and I kept thinking they might clip me, but the pilot was awesome and nothing went wrong, I literally yelled "again again!" when we landed despite the pain of a broken shin lol
