Was thinking something like this with a 570, although when I configured it earlier was an extra 100, so not sure what I have done different :)
I know pretty much nothing about up to date desktop bits mind so could be completly off.

features a better case and CPU as well as slightly better RAM for £1096.00, i know that you wanted a laptop, so you have £400 to spend on one if you wish

this build is also SLI ready

You don't need the extra cooling, so you can remove £39 from that total cost :)

And is there a reason for no 90-day free antivirus?

And also, what is your budget?

I am pretty sure that wozza didn't post the titan.

I'd suggest not getting the free trial as you have to uninstall it and there are better free things on the web anyway.

Yeah I know he didn't, I meant the OP :p

And I realise that you can get better free things but, well, free stuff is free stuff!

tbh this free stuff just adds to the junk that slowly piles up on your computer slowing it down, so i don't recommend it especially if you are adamant on what AV you are choosing, the office trial however is useful to some

Have read some people are getting issues with a 570 and swtor.

Is 2GB AMD RADEON™ HD6970 - 2 DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable and good? Presuming its a similar band to the 570 as the price is so close

TheKeir

Bright Spark
Yes, it is a great alternative. Using Logic™ we can calculate that, because the equivalent Radeon card to a Nvidia card is much cheaper, if the prices are "so close" then the AMD card should be better. In reality, yes it is a fantastic card, I think it is slightly above the GTX570 and closer to the GTX580.

Humm, will bump me cost up a fair bit getting the upgraded psu and guessing I will need better cooling for future crossfire, decisions decisions

Then looked up a spec with a AMD processor and came out about £100 cheaper, but not really sure on how good the PHENOM II processors are for gaming compared to the i5's though, any ideas?

Another quick question about the case, as im paranoid about overheating, whats the best way of adding extra fans? The only extra fan type thing I can see on the builder is the fan controller, but as the CM690 MKII can hold 10 fans i think, i reakon its worth me while getting a few more.
Are extra fans easy to fit myself? or should i ijust pay for the fan controller and get PCS to put a few more in for me?

Wozza63

Biblical Poster
they will probably be easy to install although this depends on what ports you have on the motherboard free and what the fans are, it may just be easier to just buy the fan controller, it of course gives you the control of each fan which i myself have found very useful

Think I will, can't find much on the amd card in terms of benchmarks that say its any good at all, so think I will just go for the 570 and be safe. If me budget can't quite stretch (awaiting to hear how much me bonus is from work) I might drop down to the 560 if I have to, no reason I should have to.
Might try and find an extra 60 for fast track though as I really can't wait :p
