New AIO, but gurgling noise...

Hi all,

Just had my build arrive today, it's got a Corsair H100x Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler but I've noticed a few gurgling noises which haven't gone away. I think it's an air bubble trapped somewhere. I've done some research but it's a bit of a mixed bag in terms of what I've learned - most of the people had their radiators below the pump, whereas mine is at the top.

Basic question then - is this normal for a brand new AIO? Will it settle after a few days - I imagine the transit unsettled something, so just wanted to check if this is something I can safely ignore until it solves itself? Or will I need to do something, though I'd rather not open up the fresh new build! Apologies if I'm being oversensitive to weird noises - it's just new build anxiety I suppose!!

yeah give it a day or 2, maybe just prop it up slightly one end so the pipes on the rad are slightly lower than the other end of the rad (assuming rad is in the roof)

On another note I'd uninstall Bullguard and just use the much better in built windows defender

Thanks, could you potentially post a pic so we can see what we’re dealing with?

If your radiator is front mounted, you ideally want the pump head higher than the point where the pipes meet the radiator. That way, bubbles head upwards and aren’t exacerbated by the pump motions.

If your radiator is top mounted, it might just need a bit of settling in. As @Martinr36 has just beat me to saying (damn that green box), gently tilt your system for a short period of time whilst it’s running and that will normally help dissipate the bubbling.

Just tried, but the image seems to be too large! Radiator is top mounted, with pipes heading down to the pump.

Thanks for the advice, so I'll give tilting it a go, and if that doesn't work, waiting it out a couple days and see if it settles after shipping. I'll report back if it's still gurgling, hopefully with an image that fits!

Hope it all goes alreet, let us know. If you need to post a pic and are having trouble with the maximum 1MB upload size, there’s handy tips below…

Just reporting in - seems stable now, no AIO noises and temps remain reasonable. So thanks to you and Martin - all good now!! :)
