Hi all, would anyone be able to tell me if this build looks good,
will be using it for sim racing (assetto corsa competizione, dirt rally 2.0 etc) and also for using a quest 3 vr headset again for sim racing,
using a 4k,144Hz TV,
budget is as close to £2000 as possible,
cheers Jay

We love you Ukraine
Hiya, I don’t think 4k 144hz TVs exist yet, what’s the make and model just to be sure?

Can you also include the config link at the bottom of the quote?

Also would all these fans be required: Extra Case Fans: 5 x 120mm Thermaltake TOUGHFAN 12 Case Fans,

and a friend mentioned can leave the gpu out of the build and purchase one separately for less and can also choose the model,
would this be ok,

The extra case fans are not necessary, but a 4K GPU is what's eating up a lot of the budget.

The 4070Ti Super is probably a bit stronger at 4K than the 7900XT (as it sits between the XT and XTX models) and has better DLSS/FG/RT implementation, but to hit your £2000 budget you'd have to find either at around the £700 mark (Nvidia FE version of the 4070Ti Super is about the cheapest you'll find...if they're ever back in stock).

You'll also have to let PCS know what model you've bought if you want them to connect the cables to the PSU for you (or don't if you're comfortable doing it yourself).

Hi, getting a pc and have heard it’s best to get pwm fans for better control, does anyone know out of these 3 fans which would be best,
and can the thermaltake fan be controlled via software like the Corsair ones,

1. 120mm Thermaltake TOUGHFAN 12 Case Fans
2. Corsair af120 rgb elite PWM Fan + Controller Kit
3. Corsair ICUE LINK QX120 RGB PWM Fan + Controller Kit

any help would be appreciated,

build will be:

Case: CORSAIR 5000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Eight Core CPU (4.2GHz-5.0GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5)
Motherboard: ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6)
RAM: 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card: NONE, I ALREADY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD(Model: Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Nitro Vapor-X 20GB GDDR6 PCI-Express Graphics Card, Ports: 3
1st M.2 SSD Drive: 512GB SOLIDIGM P44 PRO GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 7000MB/sR, 4700MB/sW)
2nd M.2 SSD Drive: 2TB SOLIDIGM P41+ GEN 4 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 4125MB/sR, 3325MB/sW)

Processor Cooling: DeepCool AK620 ZERO DARK High-Performance Dual Tower CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste: STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Extra Case Fans: ????

Don't forget that there's already a 1x120mm front and 1 x 120mm rear fan with that case, so you don't necessarily need more fans (although I'm a sucker for not leaving an empty hole unfilled).

But to answer the question, the 'best' there are the new iCUE Link ones (but probably the most expensive too).

Alternatives would be to:
  • change to the 5000X RGB case (£40 more?), as it has 3 x SP120 RGB Corsair fans fitted at the front.
  • switch out the Deepcool AK620 for a Corsair iCUE Link AIO (£80-£120 more) - and then have the option to put extra fans in quite easily (no extra wiring due to the Link system) if you decide you want more RGB
It's simplest if don't mix & match iCUE Link and normal iCUE products, as you'll end up with 2 controllers and different lighting/cooling options.

thanks for the information,
do you know if the 5000x has as good airflow as the 5000d airflow one,

Not quite, as the 5000X has a glass panel in front of the fans.

Corsair do 4 options:
The 5000D RGB version is not in PCS options at the moment, so you'd have to source it yourself and send it in - it's also the most expensive of the 4.

If you really want the 3 RGB fans at the front, in that case, then the 3x iCUE LINK fans & controller will be fine.

sorry new to all this,
how do you control the Thermaltake toughfan 12, is it controlled via software like the Corsair ones,

Ok cheers, thanks again for helping,
not really wanting rgb fans but would like fans that you can control the speed of them,

In that case, the Thermaltakes are fine - just set them to a speed that keeps them silent (trial and error) and let them pull in a steady amount of ambient air.

There's no controller with the Thermaltake fans, so you'll probably need Asus FanXpert to control them - which is part of Asus ArmouryCrate software, but don't use any other part of ArmouryCrate (such as the software installer, overclocking, etc.)

Hi, is it safe/ok to get a pc prebuilt by pc specialists but get the gpu from another place (as can get it cheaper) and installing it when get I get the new pc delivered,
can they test the pc build without it (or would they use one they have to test the system)
cheers

Yes, that's perfectly fine, and is what I did with my latest build as I had an RTX4090 from my previous build.

If the CPU has integrated graphics then there's no issue testing it.

You may have to plug your GPU cables into the PSU, tidy up the cabling, and install the correct drivers yourself though...and ensure the case & PSU are suitable (i.e. the GPU will physically fit, and the PSU has enough headroom for double the GPU's TDP).

thought would ask here, does anyone know what model of the amd Radeon RX 7900 XT ie reference, sapphire, xfx etc that pc specialists would supply,
spoke to live chat who said they think would be xfx but not sure,
just that it’s about £800 for the rx7900 xt gpu from pcs but can get the Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XT Nitro+ Vapor-X from elsewhere for £730,
