New Build for Gaming/General Use

Well the new motherboards with AMD Ryzen 7000 cpu's are DDR5.
And like DDR3 to 4, they aren't interchangeable.

If you're keeping with that spec ^^, it depends on what you want.
If you're already stretching your budget, 2 x 16 2666. If you can afford it, 3200 is the sweet spot for DDR4, bang for buck.
DDR5 knocks DDR4 out of the park.

I'd better mention, I'm only regurgitating what I've been reading in these forums recently. I'm an old computer geek, catching up slowly on new computer gear. Not anything like as expert as a lot of other members in here. They know what I'm just starting to learn.

DDR5 doesn't knock DDR4 out of the park unfortunately. Did you read that somewhere on here?

There is a marginal gain in game, which extends depending on application, but we're going to need to wait for the faster RAM offerings from DDR5, with tighter timings if possible, before we see it really stretch its legs.

Just a quick question for the build, I've got 2x16GB of DDR4 2666 (not PCS provided RAM sticks) in my current PC but would I be able to add that to this build if I change the selection to the '32GB PCS PRO DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)' or would it be better just selling these and going for a 16/32GB kit of DDR4 3200(or 3600)?
Unless they're matched pairs (and very hard to get this info as a consumer without actually buying them and checking them out once they're in the computer), then you wouldn't want to mix'n'match...for optimum compatibility/performance/reliability.

...and do you NEED 64GB?

Probably won't need 64GB although didn't want to waste the 32GB I already have, might just sell them and stick with the 32GB of 3200 or 3600 with the build.

That could well be me misunderstanding something I read on here.
My apologies, particularly to RyanJew 😰

Back yet again 😁

No idea what was released on the website a couple weeks ago so if someone could have a look and see if any of the new stuff would be better for me that would be great, thanks.
PC will still be used for gaming, wanting to be able to run on very high if not max graphics on most games. Would probably need a bit of storage too since I do a fair bit of graphic design and use of photoshop. [I do have a Valve Index VR kit but I would assume a build of this budget will have no trouble dealing with that].
Budget is preferably ~£1500 and may get a higher resolution monitor (monitor not included in budget).
Current Monitors
1 - BenQG2222HDL 1920x1080 60Hz
2 - HP Z22i 1920x1080 60Hz
Build has been put together with the best of my very minimal knowledge of computer components and any advise or help towards a complete (and sensibly compatible) build would be awesome. Don't care too much about looks and would therefore take performance over a light show when it comes to moving around within budget (if its a ~£10 difference then I'm not too bothered).
