New Desktop Build Help Needed

Hi guys,

Basically, I don’t really know what im looking for in terms of PC hardware so I thought I would come here.

I want to build/buy a pc that will/has:

120GB SSD
2TB HD Backup
Can run games like BF3 on high/ultra settings.
Can capture gameplay/monitor activity.
Can be used to edit 1080p gameplay with live rendering of changes made on full resolution. And that can render edits out fast.

Will an i7 chip and 16gb of ram semi future proof the system?

Budget £1,000-£1,200

Also, will i have to buy a separate capture card?

Like I said I don’t know where to start with buying any of this.

Most games use 4 or less cores, the i5 would be a good choice for a gaming rig, 8gb memory ram is plenty. It really depends on your budget, you can always add more memory ram later on.
