Would much appreciate any comments or advice on this spec. Will bemixed used some office/business, some picture editing, on-line gaming and some other games such as new F1 2010 game.

Specifically

Is additional cooling needed. Added this as have to stick to small case to fit(height) available space.

Thoughts on dual drives with raid 1 - paranoid about losing data!

Should I consider quad core re gaming requirement

Is general balance of processor, memory and GPU ok.

Shouldn't face any problems running F1 on that machine.

Consider changing your Hard Drive to one with a 64MB cache, the price increase is minimal and worth it for the performance, and tbh 250GB is pretty low these days, will easy get filled with Music, Videos, Games and such.

On Windows 7(I think) you are able to create System Images and burn them/upload them, so that could cover restoration if needed.
Someone else will have to answer for the RAID tbh.

Consider upping the Power Supply to the 600/650W, 450W should work fine but it doesn't leave much room for upgrading your Graphics card.

Overall it's a fairly balanced PC and should do what you want.

Was there any set price you had in mind ?

Thanks for info,
Was trying to keep price around £700 inc VAT
Will factor in your thoughts and see how things work out.
